Welcome to Heidenheim on the Brenz River
Our modern industrial city is situated amongst vast forests at the North Eastern corner of the Swabian Ranges and has approximately 50K inhabitants. Our landmark is the Hellenstein Castle which resides on a hill and overlooks the city. Some apartments have a wonderful view of the castle. It is a popular destination as the views from the castle down onto our city are gorgeous and shows its variety in architecture. Offering cultural highlights throughout the year, our city is buzzing with life. Plenty of nature to explore and leisure activities are also there to choose from.
You will find plenty of opportunities to explore our beautiful region on weekends or your days off. Most destinations are in close proximity so you will never spend all day in a car getting somewhere. The Lone Valley is one of our picturesque walking tracks, there is the Roman Limes in Aalen, a majestic monastery with a breathtaking church in Neresheim, plenty of castles, and interesting museums such as the Meteor Crater Museum in Steinheim and Noerdlingen as well as the Old Carriage Museum in our Hellenstein Castle. For the sporty folk there’s golf at the golf club Hochstatt minigolf, an indoor swimming pool with wellness and gym (Aquarena), an outdoor swimming pool during summer (Waldbad), lakes which offer waterski and wake boarding and plenty more.
Cultural highlights are our opera festival during the summer months, open-air theatre amongst nature as well as seasonal festivities such as wine fest, international Street Festival, Christmas Market and many more.
